Rutgers captured a 57-55 opening round win over Georgetown in the WNIT tonight at the RAC. Rachel Hollivay poured in 22 points to pace RU in scoring, closely followed by 21 from Kahleah Copper. Copper's last bucket with less than a second left was the game-winner. Next up is Virginia, on Sunday at the RAC at 2 PM. Tickets are available from the box office on Friday. Rutgers will face former Big East foe Georgetown in the opening round of the Women's NIT Tournament. The action gets underway on Thursday, March 17, at 7 PM at the RAC. Let's PACK THE RAC and cheer on our beloved Scarlet Knights as they start this new journey to a possible WNIT Championship. Tickets are available as follows: Season Ticket holders can access their accounts on-line or call 866-445-4678 to secure their normal seats. Tickets are $26 for the 100 level, $16 for 200 level reserved and $11 for general admission. Rutgers students get in free with an ID. Parking is $10.

Rutgers lost to Ohio State 73-58 in the quarterfinals of the BIG Ten Tournament on March 4. Tyler Scaife and Kahleah Copper accounted for most of the scoring with 26 and 25 points, respectively, and Copper picked up 12 rebounds to lead the team and come away with another double-double. Rutgers pulled out a thriller against Nebraska in its opening round game in the BIG 10 Tournament on March 3, coming away with a 66-63 victory. Shrita Parker came off the bench to lead RU in scoring with a career-high 18 points. Kahleah Copper totalled 17 points and Tyler Scaife chipped in 10. RU overcame a flurry of 3-pointers by Nebraska, falling behind in the second half before overtaking the Cornhuskers. RU celebrated Senior Day in style with a decisive win over Michigan, 72-50. Tyler Scaife led the scoring with 23 points, Kahleah Copper RAC'd up another double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds), Briyona Canty scored 9, Rachel Hollivay had 7 points and 3 more blocks, Ariel Butts had 5 points and KK Sanders chipped in 7. Rutgers suffered a tough loss in overtime against Purdue, 74-68 on February 25. Tyler Scaife scored 23, Kahleah Copper had 22 and Rachel Hollivay scored 15. Rutgers slips to 7-9 in BIG 10 play and 16-13 overall. Copper is now the 6th all-time leading scorer at Rutgers, and Scaife is one of a dozen Knights to top 1500 career points. She needs just 23 more points to move into the Top 10.

A tough #6 Maryland team came to the RAC on Sunday, February 21 and defeated Rutgers 73-58. Kahleah Copper added 23 points to her illustrious career, and Rachel Hollivay and Tyler Scaife scored 11 each. Rutgers falls to 16-12 overall and 7-9 in the BIG Conference. RU travels to Purdue on Thursday to face the Boilermakers before returning to the RAC next Sunday for Senior Day and to close out the season. RU lost a heartbreaker to Michigan State on February 18 at the RAC, 70-67, despite leading for almost the entire game and with a 10-point lead with just about 4 minutes left. Tyler Scaife poured in 22 points and Briyona Canty had 12. Kahleah Copper, who fouled out late in the contest along with Rachel Hollivay, had 11 points. Rachel had 10 rebounds, 8 points and 8 blocks and now is the BIG 10 Single Season record-holder in blocked shots. RU is now 16-11 overall and 7-8 in BIG 10 play. RU next faces BIG 10 foe Maryland on Sunday at the RAC in the annual Play4Kay game, homoring breast cancer survivors. There is a pre-game Huddle at 1 prior to the 3 PM game.

Rutgers picked up its 3rd straight win with a 63-56 victory over Illinois to even its BIG 10 record at 7-7. Rachel Hollivay (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Kahleah Copper (17 points, 10 rebounds) each recorded a double-double. Tyler Scaife totaled 16 points and Briyona Canty had 7 assists. The win was the 2nd straight BIG 10 road victory for RU after a 0-5 start. On the season, RU is now 16-10. RU returns home Thursday to play Michigan State in a BLACK OUT game. RU pulled out a thrilling victory over Northwestern at the RAC February 10, 61-59, on a last second breakaway by Tyler Scaife. She totalled 24 points and Kahleah Copper had 20. Briyona Canty swished a 3-pointer to tie the game at 59 with just 11 seconds left before a block by Rachel Hollivay (who had 6 on the night) gave the ball back to RU for the winning shot. RU improves to 15-10 on the season and 6-7 in the BIG 10 Conference. RU travels to Illinois for a game on Saturday at 6. Prior to the game, senior Rachel Hollivay was honored in recognition of becoming the all-time leader in blocks for Rutgers Women's Basketball. With the addition of 6 blocks, she now has passed 300 for her career.
